The Department of Health recommends flu vaccination if you are:-

  • Pregnant
  • Aged 65 or over
  • A person with diabetes
  • A person with a BMI over 40
  • A carer

Or if you have a long term condition of the:-

  • Lungs, e.g asthma or COPD
  • Heart
  • Brain or nervous system
  • Kidneys
  • Liver
  • Immune system
  • Spleen

This year there are 2 different injectable flu vaccinations – one that is recommended for those over the age of 65 and one for those under the age of 65 with a risk factor.

There is a national problem with the delivery of the over 65 flu vaccine and our stocks will vary over the flu season.

Children at risk or those aged 2 and 3 can be given the intranasal flu - please make an appointment with our nurse.
